How do PVC Strip Curtains Work?

PVC Strip Curtains / Doors consist of strips of PVC which overlap each other to form a flexible screen utilising our hook-on or bolt-on hanging system, that will cover any size opening to retain heat, or chilled air, yet still be accessible to vehicles and pedestrians.

They are an economical solution to many companies energy costs. In addition, they deter unwanted visitors like birds, insects & pests.

For chillers, cold stores and freezers, PVC strip curtains maintain the cool/cold air, reducing energy costs and retaining the temperature.

Industrial PVC Curtains

PVC Strip Curtains & Doors Reduce Energy Consumption

While PVC strip curtains are commonplace in many industries, not everyone is aware of their cost-saving and health and safety benefits.

These include:

  • Maintaining temperature on either side of the curtain, retaining heat or chilled air depending on the environment.
  • Conform to health and safety regulations by preventing entry by birds and pests.
  • Our super clear PVC Curtains provide excellent clarity on either side of the curtain.
  • Reducing the amount of noise pollution by up to 30 Db depending on grade and overlap.
  • Can be used to partition work areas in warehouses to prevent cross contamination.

Our plastic curtains come in two styles, one which is smooth on both sides and one that is ribbed. The ribbed curtains are most suited to heavy traffic areas, particularly where fork lift trucks are passing through as the ribs help reduce the brunt of scratching of the PVC, thereby prolongong it’s life.

PVC Curtains are very easy to install, however for complicated areas, or where additional steelwork may be required, we offer a nationwide installation service.

We stock many different colours and grades of PVC including anti-static, Polar grade for freezers, coloured options, welding grades etc.

Fixing Systems we Supply to complement our Strip Curtains

We offer three different styles of fixing systems so you can choose the most appropriate for your needs.

Hook-On System

Our ‘Hook on’ system is the most popular for pedestrian and light duty doorways as  it is a simple task to replace strips should you ever need to, plus cleaning the hook-on strips is made easier by the fact that they just “un-hook”.

Additionally if you want to remove the PVC strips to increase airflow, in summer, it is very easy and straightforward to do.

Our hook-on system comprises of a rail/rails which have hooks protruding from them. Each strip of PVC has either a polycarbonate or stainless steel plate attached to it, and these simply hook onto the track.

We offer two overlap options, minimum (40%) or maximum (80%) depending on the requirement for the location, or the height of the curtain.

Bolt-On System

Generally used for larger curtains or in heavy duty areas, our ‘Bolt-on’ system is usually used with heavier, thicker, wider grades of PVC as opposed to the thinner, narrower grades.

The bolt-on system comprises of aluminium “V” track/s where the PVC is attached via bolts and a face plate.

Similar to the hook-on system, we offer two types of overlap, minimum, (50%) or maximum (100%) depending on the areas requirement, or how exposed it is to the elements.

The PVC is attached either side of the track which gives complete coverage with maximum overlap.

Sliding Curtains

Our sliding system is  a popular option for use in places where you may require vehicle access, but want to prevent damage or scratching, such as garages, car valeting bays or showrooms.

It is also useful on an installation where fragile or lightweight goods are being transorted through the opening as the PVC can be slid out of the way preventing damage.

Our sliding system uses bolt-on track, which is attached to rollers enabling you to slide the curtain out of the way when required.

We offer a number of options with our sliding curtains including bi-parting.
